The Aditya Birla Education Trust since its inception, has always endeavoured to nurture all minds alike. It is the firm belief of Founder & Chairperson, Mrs. Neerja Birla, that learning is a lifelong process; and through the Trust, she has ensured that anyone who is eager to learn has an avenue to do so.

Under the purview of the Trust, she set up the Aditya Birla World Academy, which is a pioneering International school, with an Indian Soul; and The Aditya Birla Integrated School, which provides a holistic learning environment to students with learning difficulties. With a vision to foster positive changes in the attitudes towards mental health, she founded Mpower, a passionately on-going endeavour to be the Movement to affect change; to promote mental health and well-being in the most holistic manner conceivable. In her latest foray into building a holistic education base, Mrs. Birla founded the Aditya Birla Education Academy, an attempt to nurture the aspirations of the brilliant and dedicated educators who nurture young minds; to give them impetus to pursue their ambitions and fast-track their career growth. Ujaas, the youngest initiative by Aditya Birla Education Trust aims to create a positive and sustainable impact in the menstrual health landscape in India by reducing period poverty and by empowering adolescent girls and women to adopt effective menstrual health and hygiene management practices.

Mrs. Neerja Birla

Founder & Chairperson, Aditya Birla Education Trust
The best schools are the ones that succeed in becoming a home away from home for their students. And the best teachers are those who are effective in becoming dependable stand-in parents for the students when they’re away from their parents.

Educators have the crucial job of: imparting knowledge and learning, nurturing talents and gifts, imbibing values and disciplines, and looking after the emotional well-being of students. Within each student there is innate goodness, a wellspring of creativity and a heart full of dreams. But it is his or her teachers who often hold the key to unlocking all that remarkable potential.

Which is why, I have always believed that teachers are special people – blessed souls entrusted with the most critical and noble responsibility of shaping the minds and the imaginations of future generations.

After all, only with knowledge and imagination can humanity evolve. But as we evolve, those who impart knowledge must evolve as well.

Rabindranath Tagore once said – Don’t limit a child to your own learning for he was born in another time.

Fortunately, our education system has made rapid and substantial strides in so many ways in recent years. But it is time we also focus on the need for our educators and school administrators to update their skillsets on a continual and planned basis.

It is imperative that our educators evolve with changing times. They need to adapt to contemporary, avant-garde knowledge and adopt innovative tools and resources of teaching. They must become out-of-the-box thinkers in order to impart the much needed new-age education.

The Aditya Birla Education Academy (ABEA), an endeavour of the Aditya Birla Education Trust, is an attempt to nurture the aspirations of the brilliant and dedicated educators who nurture young minds; to give them impetus to pursue their ambitions and fast-track their career growths.

Using state-of-the-art, comprehensive and holistic resources by way of tie-ups with renowned educational institutions from across the world, ABEA aims to equip educators with cutting-edge skills and modern tools to enhance their abilities and make them privy to 21st century modes of teaching. This will allow them to think differently and execute their decisive roles far more effectively.
